John Wayne Taylor, age 81, of Hockessin, DE, formerly of Rehoboth Beach, DE passed away Monday, February 14, 2022. Born in Philadelphia, PA, on September 24, 1940, he was the son of the late Eugene, Sr., and Gertrude Vogdes Taylor.

A U.S. Navy Desert Storm veteran, Mr. Taylor retired after 30 years of working as a retail sales manager in the liquor industry. A member of the U.S. Navy Reserves, he enjoyed being part of the Foster Grandparent Program, and gardening.

Survivors include his son, Kenneth A. Taylor, Newark, DE; stepchildren, Lynn, David, Michelle, and Larry Murphy; brother, Eugene A. Taylor, Jr., Newark, DE; niece, Kim Kemp; 22 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edythe Vandevere Taylor, and son, Anthony W. Taylor, Sr.

Graveside service with military honors will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.
