John Ronald Leonforte, 75, of Perryville, MD passed away on Saturday, May 10, 2025. Born in New York City, NY on May 13, 1949, he was the son of the late John and Helen Walsh Leonforte.

A proud U.S. Army veteran, John honorably served his country for 24 years, including during the Vietnam War, rising to the rank of Master Sergeant. He continued his service in a different capacity, working for many years in Information Technology at Aberdeen Proving Ground until his retirement. John found great joy in cooking for family and friends, building and collecting model trains, and exploring biblical history and genealogy. He will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Mary Winter Leonforte; children, Jason Leonforte (Heather), Commerce, GA, Annette Baldwin, Forth Worth, TX, Deborah Leonforte-Galindo (Jovanny), Neptune City, NJ, Joanna Leonforte-Mundo (Jeff), Tinton Falls, NJ, and Michelle Leonforte, Forth Worth, TX; grandchildren, Angelica, Ayden, Shane, Chase, and Gianna; and his brother, Tommy Leonforte.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by many of his brothers and sisters.

Funeral service with Military Honors will be held 12 PM, Monday, May 19, 2025 at River of Life Church, 1121 Singerly Road, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 11 AM. Interment will be Tuesday, May 20, 2025 in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
