John Allen Hedrick, 73, of Elkton, MD passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. Born in Wilmington, DE on November 9, 1951, he was the son of the late Charles and Ruth Miller Hedrick.

John retired from Chrysler in 2003, where he dedicated many years of hard work and commitment. He was known for his love of motorcycles, gardening, DIY projects, and active participation in church events. His heart was always open and his hands-on approach and passion for life were evident in everything he did. John's memory will be remembered fondly and forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Melba; his son, John; daughter-in-law, Heather; stepchildren, Steve (Trish), Brenda (Rick), and Rhonda (Steve); and his cherished grandchildren, Mason, Landen, and Savannah.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Shari; and his siblings, Donald, Charles, Savilla, Thomas, and Billy.

Funeral service will be held 11 AM, Monday, January 20, 2025 at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 1842 Otts Chapel Rd, Newark, DE 19702, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be private in Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle, DE.
