Jerry Lee Sturgill, 62, of Cumming, GA, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025, on his 39th wedding anniversary. Born in Elkton, MD on September 9, 1962, he was the son of the late Lawrence David Sturgill Sr. and Wanda June Sturgill.

A devoted husband and a loving father to his two daughters, Jerry was known for his hard work and dedication to his career, family and friends. After proudly serving in the U.S. Army and receiving an honorable discharge, Jerry went on to have successful careers in car sales, utility line construction, and logistics. Despite his many responsibilities, he always made time for his family and his passions.

Jerry deserves to have his long years of fatherly love honored. He was a man of fierce love, generosity, and unwavering support; he left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

Jerry's hobbies and interests helped define who he was. He enjoyed golfing, boating, fishing and visiting family, often spending his weekends finding new adventures. His love for rock and roll was something he shared with his children, leaving a mark that will never fade.

Survivors include his loving wife of 39 years, Mary Peacock Sturgill; his daughters, Kaleigh Byrd (Eric), and Whitney Busby (Justin); and numerous family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Beverly Jean Sturgill.

Memorial service will be held 3 PM, Saturday, March 22nd at Friendship Baptist Church, 2250 Friendship Circle, Cumming, GA 30028.

Funeral service will be held 11 AM, Friday, March 28, 2025 at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Elkton, MD.
