Janet Yvonne Fye, age 85, of Elkton, MD, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2023. Born in Grande, WV, on August 7, 1937, she was the daughter of the late William and Viola Blankenship Mullins.

Mrs. Fye retired from the Maryland State Highway Administration where she worked as a toll sergeant for I95. After retirement, she continued her career by working as a security officer for Delaware Park. She was the President of MCEA-State Highway Union and served on the alumni committee of Elkton High School. Mrs. Fye loved the outdoors and enjoyed crafting and making flower arrangements.

Survivors include her children, Anita Heath, Perryville, MD, Leon Fye (Kathy), whom she lived with, Elkton, MD, and David Fye (Memory), Edgewood, MD; brother, Dean Mullins, Elkton, MD; caregiver, Lisa Cecil, Elkton, MD; 11 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Fye, Jr., son-in-law, Preston Heath; and siblings, Roy, Troy, Claude, Kyle, and Coy Mullins, and Rosie Horn, Lilly Rich, and Lexie Guns.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 West Stockton Street, Elkton, MD, where visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Gilpin Manor Memorial Park.
