Obituary

Jack Rigger DeBusk, 74, of North East, MD passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025. Born in Saltville, VA on January 12, 1951, he was the son of the late Burton and Mary Bordwine DeBusk.

Jack was always known by the name "Rigger," a testament to his dedicated work as a crane rigger in the heavy construction industry, a profession he proudly followed until his well-earned retirement. Beyond his career, Rigger was deeply passionate about motorcycles, specifically Harleys. He was a long-standing member of the Reading Motorcycle Club in Oley, PA, where he forged many lasting friendships. His love for motorcycles went beyond riding—Rigger had an unparalleled talent for rebuilding and custom-building Harley-Davidson motorcycles. He could fix anything, and his skills were often sought after by all who knew him.

Survivors include his children, Brian DeBusk (Anita), Elkton, MD, and Kimberly Batzer (Bruce), Cleveland, OH; his loving companion of 38 years, Virginia Gouge; 3 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Linda Weaver, Oxford, PA, Freda VanDyke, Rising Sun, MD, and Michael DeBusk, Elkton, MD.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne DeBusk.
