Howard Mullen Simpson, Jr., age 92, of Elkton, MD, passed away Monday, January 17, 2022. Born in Elkton, on May 22, 1929, he was the son of the late Howard M. Simpson, Sr. and Katherine Underwood Rigg.

A graduate of North East High School, North East, MD, Mr. Simpson served in the Army National Guard. He retired from General Motors Corporation, Wilmington, DE, where he worked for over 30 years, as an assembler. His memberships included the American Legion Cecil Post #15, Elkton, and the 29 ^th Division Association. Mr. Simpson, enjoyed gardening, and watching wrestling and westerns on television. He was a crucial supporter and frequently donated to the Blood Bank of Delmarva.

Survivors include his children, Thomas Simpson, and Theresa Snyder, both of Elkton, MD, and Tracy Simpson, Colorado Springs, CO; brother William "Bob" Simpson, Elkton, MD; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Sally T. Bakley Simpson; and siblings, Harriet Buckwalter, Zelda Whiteside, Paul Simpson, and Mary Boddy.

Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at Bethel Cemetery, 312 Bethel Cemetery Road, Chesapeake City, MD  21915, where visitation will begin at the cemetery at 12:30 p.m.
