Hilda Karen Calvert, 79, of Middletown, DE, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. Born in Roanoke, WV on December 2, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Lena McClung Permenter.

She worked as a security guard for 3 years and was a dedicated member of the Elk's Auxiliary Post #1771 in Myrtle Beach, where she enjoyed the friendships and community she found there.

Mrs. Calvert loved everything artistic. She expressed her creativity through sewing, knitting, crocheting, and painting, sharing her handmade treasures with those she cared about. Her warm spirit, kindness, and artistic touch will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Charles N. Calvert; daughters, Karen Calvert Baeder, Newark, DE and Michelle Lynn Hannum (Tom), Middletown, DE; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Violet Riddle; brother, Delvin E. Permenter and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Hershall Permenter and Richard Permenter.

Services will be held at a later date with interment in Cherry Hill Methodist Cemetery, Elkton, MD.
