Helen Florine Sturgill, 88, of Elkton, MD passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024. Born in Hinton, WV on July 25, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Hobart and Iva McNabb.

Mrs. Sturgill was a homemaker.

Survivors include her children, Gary Sturgill (April), Conowingo, MD, Linda Pugh (Gary), and Troy Sturgill, both of Elkton, MD; 7 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and siblings, Leroy, Sally, Liz, Rose, and Jacqueline.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Fred Sturgill; sons, Pete Sturgill and Michael Sturgill; and siblings, John, Harry, Carolyn, Gail, and Robbie.

Funeral service will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton St., Elkton 21921 where visitation will begin at 10 AM.  Interment in Cherry Hill Methodist Cemetery will follow the service.
