Harry Linwood
Larkin
June 19, 1929 – December 29, 2021
Harry Linwood Larkin, 92, of Elkton, MD passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2021. Born in Whitehall, MD, on June 19, 1929, he was the son of the late Walter Long-Jackson and Mary Larkins.
In service to his country for two sessions, Mr. Larkin was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He retired from the Veterans Administration, where he was the Food Service Manager for 36 years. Mr. Larkin was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, Lindenwold, NJ.
At age 72, he received a degree in Culinary Arts from Daytona Beach Community College. He then moved on to become a Sous Chef at Delaware Park, and later at the World Golf Village, St. Augustine, FL.
Harry, as known fondly by everyone, received multiple Awards of Excellence and Superb Performance, in his leadership roles at all locations fortunate enough to receive his extraordinary services.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Vanessa Tazewell Larkin; children, Brian Larkin, Jarred Tazewell, Cheryl Larkin, and Bradford Larkin; brother, Tony Jackson; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Larkin was preceded in passing by a sister, Joyce.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, January 24, 2022, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, where visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Interment with military honors will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.
At the request of the family, face masks will be required.
