Glenna Gail Dean, 81, of Elkton, MD passed away peacefully surrounded by her family after battling a short illness on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. Born in Bluefield, WV on March 28, 1944, she was the daughter of the late William Richard and Mary Ethel Taylor Gilbert.

Mrs. Dean was a loving grandmother and great-grandmother who cherished her family above all else. She made it a point to check in on everyone, whether through phone calls, texts, or thoughtfully sent cards, always making sure those she loved felt cared for. She enjoyed visiting with family, going on shopping trips, and playing on her iPad. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her great-grandson, Watson, who brought her immense happiness. Mrs. Dean's love, thoughtfulness, and devotion to her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.

Survivors include her loving husband of 60 years, Albert G. Dean, Sr., children; Teresa Dean Adams and Albert G. Dean, Jr., both of North East, MD; grandchildren, Allison Marquess (Travis) and Emily Dean (David), great-grandson; Watson Marquess, siblings; Clara Madeline Moore, Elkton, MD, Danny Gilbert (Debbie), Middletown, DE, and Mark Gilbert (Karen), North East, MD.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers; Leslie, Darrell, and Johnny Gilbert, and sister; Sandra K. Johnson.

Funeral service will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be in Rosebank Cemetery, Rising, MD.
