Gilbert Carl Nagle Jr., 77, of Elkton, MD passed away on Friday, May 2, 2025. Born in San Antonio, TX on November 29, 1947, he was the son of the late Gilbert Sr. and Bernice Reed Nagle.

Gilbert was a proud U.S. Air Force veteran. His last assignment was with the 347th AMS at Yokota, Japan (1968–1970). He served his country with honor before retiring as a technician at Verizon. Gilbert was actively involved with the Boy Scouts for many years and was a longtime scout leader for Troop #22. He lived and breathed the Scout Oath, leaving an incredible legacy as a role model and example of a good man. Gilbert impacted the lives of many young people. An avid motorcyclist, he was a member of the Chesapeake HOG Chapter motorcycle group and a devoted member of Leeds Church, where he loved singing in the choir.

Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Edna Witschonke Nagle; children, Zachary B. Nagle (Lauren), North East, MD, Kathleen Clarke (Andy), Snow Hill, MD, Joshua C. Nagle, Elkton, MD, and Elizabeth C. M. Nagle, Denver, CO; grandchildren, Anders, Emmett, and Isabelle; his sisters, Pam Beatty, Rising Sun, MD and Cynthia Helker, Newark, DE; and his beloved K-9, Popeye.

Celebration of Life will be held 11 AM, Thursday, May 29, 2025 at Leeds Church, 1579 Blue Ball Road, Elkton, MD 21921. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Troop #22, or to Leeds Methodist Church, in care of Hicks Home for Funerals, P.A. at 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921.
