Gerald Bruce Gilley, 75, of Colora, MD passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024. Born in Jefferson, NC on May 21, 1948, he was the son of the late Conley Vaughn and Virginia Furchis Gilley.

Mr. Gilley retired after 42 years from the Chrysler Corporation in Newark, DE as a laborer in the shipping department. He was a UAW Local member and loved admiring cars.

Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Norma Jean Fritts Gilley; son, Eric VanDyke (Sylvia), Colora, MD; grandchildren, Christopher VanDyke (Leah) and Brittany VanDyke; great-grandchildren, Piper, Temperance, Elliott, Charlotte, Maverick, Harry, Lydia and Emmalynn; siblings, Carolyn McQuitty and Debbie Adams, both Rising Sun, MD.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Rita Moore.

Funeral service will be held 11 AM, Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be in Conowingo Baptist Cemetery, Conowingo, MD.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children at 2900 North Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
