George Morton
Reynolds, Sr.
September 10, 1922 – January 21, 2024
George Morton Reynolds, Sr., 101, of Elkton, MD passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024. Born in Porter, DE on September 10, 1922, he was the son of the late Albert Miley and Elizabeth Whiteman Reynolds.
A WWII U.S. Navy veteran, Mr. Reynolds retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground as an Electronic Technician in the Ballistics Research Laboratory. He was a founding member and past President of the Archeological Society of MD, Inc., past President of the Elk Creek Preservation Society, and a member of the Cecil County Historical Society. Mr. Reynolds enjoyed Indian Historical Research and was an Amateur Radio Operator for W3WYA.
Survivors include his loving wife of 25 years, Elvira Dela Torre Reynolds; son, Martin Reynolds, Williamsburg, VA; stepchildren, Marjorie Soriano, and Marlon Soriano, both of Elkton, MD; 8 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children, Margaret Faye Reynolds, and George Morton Reynolds, Jr.; and brother, Albert Rodney Reynolds.
Funeral service will be held 11 AM, Monday, January 29, 2024 at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment with Military Honors will be in Cherry Hill Methodist Cemetery, Elkton, MD.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Baldwin United Methodist Church, 756 Elk Mills Road, P. O. Box 12, Elk Mills, MD 21920.
