Frederick Wilson Hill, 95, of Elk Mills, MD, went to be with his Lord, surrounded by his loving family on November 1, 2023. Born on March 1, 1928, he was the son of the late Fred LaForest Hill and Helen Hope Dennison Weyant.
A U.S. Coast Guard veteran of WWII, Mr. Hill retired as a Supervisor from Chrysler after 30 years. Following retirement, he worked various jobs, including but not limited to Williams Automotive, Elkton, MD, W. L. Gore & Associates, Elk Mills site, and Home Depot, Newark, DE. He was an avid gardener, Baltimore Orioles and Raven's fan and WWII aficionado who enjoyed reading, woodworking and fishing, but most of all, spending time with his family.
Survivors include his children, Arlene Powell, Gary Hill (Kay), both of Elkton, MD; daughter-in-law, Denise Hill, Elkton, MD; grandchildren, Shannon Anderson, Shawn Powell, Frederick G. Hill, Jr., Tracy Wright, Justin Schroeder; great-grandchildren, Savannah Anderson, Caleb Anderson, Reese Powell, Maeve Powell, Beckett Powell, John Hill, Mackenzie Hill, Brady Hill, Hailey Audrey Hill, Holden Hill, Nolan Hill, Ethan Wright; great-great-granddaughter, Sophie Anderson; siblings, Gene Hill, Peoria, AZ, Paul "Dukes" Weyant , Newark, DE, Paula Bradley, Wayne Weyant, Barbara Mears, David Bibey, all of Wilmington, DE; and his beloved K-9 companion, Gracie Hill; sister-in-law, Millie Widdoes; brother- in-law, Bob Galyen (Shirley), both of Elkton, MD; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 71 years, Audrey V. Hill; son, Frederick Glenn Hill, Sr.; son-in-law, Larry Powell; numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held 11 AM, Thursday, November 9, 2023 at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment with Military Honors will be in Cherry Hill Methodist Cemetery.
