Emma Mable Griffith, age 89, of Newark, DE, passed away Friday, January 14, 2022. Born in Beaver Creek, MD, on November 12, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Eugene B. and Flora N. Hoffman Bowers.

Mrs. Griffith retired from the Cecil County Board of Education, where she worked as a secretary.

Survivors include her children, Gary A. Griffith, Newark, DE, Tina L. Dyer (Bill), Elkton, MD, and Lisa G. Hawkins (Mike), Bybee, TN; siblings, Ruth, Dorothea, and Clint; 4 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Griffith was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. Griffith; and 8 of her siblings.

Graveside service will be held at 12 Noon, Friday, January 21, 2022, at Principio Methodist Cemetery, 1511 Principio Furnace Road, Perryville, MD  21903.
