Edythe Hillis Allman, 100, of Elkton, MD, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024. Born in Wilmington, DE, on October 25, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Mahlon and Ella Hickman Hillis.
Mrs. Allman retired from DuPont as a Blueprint Specialist in the engineering department. During her tenure she was awarded a citation acknowledging her contribution to the Manhattan Project.
She enjoyed cooking, dining out, and doing crossword puzzles. She was also an avid animal lover and an accomplished artist.
Survivors include her sons, Daniel Repole (Melody), Port St. Lucie, FL, and Steven Repole (Eleanor), Elkton, MD; grandchildren, Karen Cunningham, Kimberly Wagner (Bob), Courtney Milam (Dan), Steven Repole (Lisa), and Aubrey Repole; 13 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her step-children, Larry Allman, Port St. Lucie, FL, Vicky Bradford, Dover, DE, and Brian Allman, Los Angeles, CA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Leonard Allman, her sisters, Grace Frank, and Blanche Peters, and brothers, Alton Hillis, Aubrey Hillis, and Howard Hillis.
Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
