Edward S. Banas, Jr.

Edward Stanley Banas, Jr., age 59, of North East, MD, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2013. Born in Alexandria, VA, on January 10, 1954, he was the son of the late Edward S., Sr. and Mary Jo Seese Banas.

Mr. Banas was a computer systems engineer. He was a member of Bishop Becker Council 2427, Knights of Columbus, Elkton, Boy Scouts of America and Sigma Phi. He enjoyed trains and horses.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Patricia Aber Banas; sons, Christopher E. Banas and Benjamin A. Banas, both of North East, MD; and siblings, Matthew Banas, Mark Banas, both of Houston, TX, and Patricia Cook, Atlanta, GA.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Monday, March 4, 2013, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton St., Elkton, MD 21921. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 5, at St. Jude Catholic Church, 928 Turkey Point Road, North East, MD, where visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Private interment will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Cherry Hill, MD.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Outreach Program, in care of the funeral home.
