Dorothy Davis Phipps, 92, of Newark, DE, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2025. Born in Saint Martin, MD, on January 31, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Edward Sr. and Ethel Herman Davis.

Dorothy dedicated her life as a homemaker and found great joy in caring for her family, cherishing every moment spent with those she loved most. She enjoyed listening to music, exploring new places through travel, and trying her luck with scratch-off tickets. Dorothy leaves behind a lifetime of love and memories that will be held closely in the hearts of all who knew her.

Survivors include her children, Linda Cichocki (Joe), Newark, DE, Jenny Phipps (Ottie Pondman), Newark, DE, Richard Phipps (Lisa), Lumberton, NJ, and Joseph Phipps (Carol), Elkton, MD; daughter-in-law, Debby Newsome; grandchildren, Christopher Phipps, Thomas Mergenthaler, Danielle Mulder, Stephanie Mulder, Amanda Phipps, Jennifer Cichocki, Ron Phipps, Rob Phipps, Kaitlyn Phipps, and Madison Phipps; great-grandchildren, Tara Phipps, Isla Phipps, and Grayson Phipps; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Ronald Gayle Phipps; son, Ronald Gene Phipps; granddaughter, Carrie Neff; and siblings, Jeannette Grubb, Edward Davis II, Florence Colmery, Marie Torres, Edith Turner, and Robert Davis.

Funeral service will be held 11 AM, Monday, September 22, 2025, at Newark Wesleyan Church, 708 W. Church Road, Newark, DE 19711, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be in White Clay Creek Presbyterian Cemetery, Newark, DE.
