Dorothy Miles Hildabrant, 76, of Newark, DE passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024. Born in Wilmington, DE on May 23, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Edmund and Jesse Neaves Miles.

Dorothy dedicated her life as a caregiver for children in her home, creating a nurturing environment for countless families over the years. Beyond her career, she was an avid reader, found joy in solving puzzles and loved spending time at Kure Beach in North Carolina. Dorothy's greatest pride of all was her own family, who she treasured every moment spent with them, creating cherished memories that will live on forever.

Survivors include her loving husband of 53 years, Donald Hildabrant; children, Holly Shoemaker (Rick), Middletown, DE and Eric Hildabrant, Newark, DE; granddaughters, Alexis Shoemaker and Skye Hildabrant; and great-granddaughter, Charlotte Witmer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Alpha Johnson.

Funeral service will be held 2 PM, Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 1 PM. Interment will be private.
