Donna Marie Sturgill, 69, of Elkton, MD, passed away on November 6, 2023. Born in Wilmington, DE on September 22, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Willard B. and Virginia E. Lloyd Macbeth. Donna was a beacon of love and kindness, enriching the lives of those around her with her enduring optimism and her belief in heartfelt farewells; she never said goodbye, preferring the promise of "see you later," embracing the certainty that connections of the heart transcend all boundaries of time and place.

In her journey through life, she found joy and laughter alongside her loving partner, Richard Newcomb. Her spirit flourished in the company of her family, with whom she shared her love of travel and the treasured moments with her beloved granddaughter.

Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her sons, Eric Sturgill (Haley Queen) of Charlestown, MD, Steven Sturgill of Wilmington, DE; her granddaughter, Willow Sturgill; her sister, Deborah Macbeth (Jamie Squires) of North East, MD; and her devoted partner, Richard Newcomb.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Monday, November 13, 2023, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 West Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, where family and friends can gather for visitation at 10 AM. Donna will be laid to rest, in private company, at Bethel Cemetery, Chesapeake City, MD.

In every remembered story and each moment of reflection, we find that Donna is still very much with us, until we meet again.
