It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Donald Lee Noel of Elkton, MD. Donald was born on February 18, 1933, and transitioned out of life on October 8, 2026. He was the son of John F. Noel and Mabel V. (Kirby) Noel.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings; Jack Noel and Elizabeth Noel.

Through his life’s journey of 93 years, he was loved by so many. Donald was a proud Korean War-era U.S. Army veteran who retired from the United States Government at Aberdeen Proving Ground as a photographer after 35 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends; he traveled with his wife all over the U.S. He also enjoyed working in his yard, hunting, meeting friends for coffee, and was an AVID Notre Dame Irish football fan. He went to many home and away games with his wife and their daughter, Shelly and her partner, John. Donald was a member of American Legions Post #135, Perryville, MD, a lifetime member of VFW Post #8175, Elkton, MD and a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, Elkton, MD.

He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years; Betty Noel and daughter; Shelly A. Noel (John H. Miller), Hockessin, DE, many nieces and nephews, and beloved furry companion, Allie.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to his long-time friends; Carol and Hoby Halsey and Sonny and Zeannett (Armour) Damonite, along with their son; Danny Armour and Sharon Armour of Elkton, MD.

A private funeral with military honors will be held. Interment will be private.
