Desiree Dee Markman, 68, of Elkton, MD passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023. Born in Fort Monmouth, NJ on May 23, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Edna Weickle Martz.

Mrs. Markman had been the assistant manager at Dollar Tree. She enjoyed crocheting, loved collecting owls and gnomes, and time spent with her family meant the most to her.

Survivors include her loving husband of 49 years, Samuel M. Markman; children, Joshua Alan Markman, Neptune, NJ, Danielle Renee Cox (Dean), Fair Hill, MD; grandchildren, Shelbee Cooper (Donald), Aidan Kirby, Rylee Cox (Ethan Wooster), Kamryn Cox; great-granddaughter, Kayleigh Cooper; her many adopted grandchildren; brothers, Donald Martz (Linda), Old Bridge, NJ, and Kevin Martz, Queens, NY.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Donna Mae, Jean and David.

Visitation will be held from 1 PM to 3 PM, Friday, December 1, 2023 at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921. Interment will be private.
