Delmar Ray Parsons, 96, of Newark, DE passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024. Born in Lansing, NC on July 11, 1927, he was the son of the late Edward and Jean Combs Parsons.

Mr. Parsons retired as a heavy equipment operator for Hyponex. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and caring for his lawn.

Survivors include his loving wife of 70 years, Mildred Wyatt Parsons; daughters, Debbie Hartman (David), Lake Alfred, FL, and Lori Hopman (David), Newark, DE; granddaughters, Becky Pullin (Steve), Elkton, MD, and Casey Overs (Tom), North East, MD; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Parker, and Lincoln; siblings, Agnes Dolinger (Doyle), Millers Creek, NC, and Roger Parsons (Della), Creston, NC.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Herman, Daryll, Harold, and Darrel; and sisters, Pauline, Mary Lou, and Thelma.

Funeral service will be held 11 AM, Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be in Gilpin Manor Memorial Park, Elkton, MD.
