Debra Lynn Turner, 66, of Elkton, MD passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024. Born in Wilmington, DE on August 18, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Haley and Phyllis Jensen Tweed.
Debra had been a cashier at Lowe's, prior to that, she had worked at Bakers Restaurant, Glass Kitchen, and WNRK, a radio channel in Newark, DE. She found joy in spending time with her children and grandson, creating memories that will forever be cherished. Debra had a passion for travel and sightseeing, often embarking on trips with her friends to explore new places. She had a love for animals, particularly dogs, which led her to rescue three K-9 companions. One of Debra's principles in life was encapsulated in a saying she held dear: "Live like you left the gate open." She was a bright soul who had a truly one of kind spirit and will be missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her daughter, Julia Turner, Conowingo, MD; grandson, Colten Turner; siblings, Kathleen Peak, Elkton, MD, and Henry Tweed, Elkton, MD; and former husband, William Turner, Jr.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, William Turner, III; and siblings, Larry Weed, and Diane Weed Rhoades.
Funeral service will be held 11 AM, Thursday, April 11, 2024 at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be private in Gilpin Manor Memorial Park, Elkton, MD.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hicks Home for Funerals, P.A. at the above address to help defray funeral expenses.
