David Oscar Lane, 82, of Elkton, MD passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2025. Born in Wilmington, DE on September 16, 1942, he was the son of the late Oscar and Sara Tryens Lane.

David proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine from 1960 to 1964. Stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina, he was honorably discharged after four years of dedicated service. In 2002, after 32 years of hard work, David retired from his position at CSX Railroad, where he had worked with dedication and expertise.

Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Diana Masimore Lane; children, Robert Smith (Daina), Middletown, DE, Dewey Lilly (Deirdre), Oxford, PA, and Solinda Hamilton (Gaylin), Elkton, MD; grandchildren, Taylor Clifton, Robby Smith, Gage Clifton, Carah Smith, Colin Lilly, Kate Lilly, and Matty Lilly; great-grandchildren, Zayden Clifton, Kaius Clifton, Damien Clifton, and Montana Smith; and his siblings, Linda Feely and Michael Lane.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Veasey Lane; grandson, Zachary Smith; and his siblings, Howard Lane and Nancy Lane.
