Claire Ellen Powell, 71, of Elkton, MD passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024. Born in Cherry Point, NC on September 8, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Bernadine Wells Davis.

Claire dedicated her life as a homemaker, creating a loving environment for her family, and was an avid member of the YMCA. She had a love for animals, particularly her chickens and dogs. Claire's greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her cherished grandchildren. In her leisure time, she loved to garden, go on motorcycle rides with her husband, and take trips to the cabin in the mountains of West Virginia.

Survivors include her loving husband of 41 years, Jeffrey Powell; children, Marie Dockter, Lucas Pollard, and Joseph Pollard; 5 grandchildren; and sisters, Patty, and Dawn.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Ron Powell; and her siblings, Cindy, Jimmy, and Russell.

Funeral service will be held 11 AM, Friday, May 17, 2024 at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be private.
