Charlene Elyse Wilson, 66, of Newark, DE passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, September 28, 2026. Born in Elkton, MD on October 27, 1959, she was the daughter of Charles E. Thompson Sr. and the late Mary E. Washington Bowser.

Mrs. Wilson retired after many years serving her community as a housekeeper at Union Hospital. She was a proud member of Bearing Precious Seeds Christian Ministry. Mrs. Wilson was an avid Eagles and Ravens fan, enjoyed bingo, playing cards, fashion, and spending time with family and friends. She had a fun-loving personality and was known for pulling pranks, making jokes, and keeping everyone laughing. Mrs. Wilson will be remembered for her kind heart, wonderful sense of humor, and the joy she brought to those around her.

Survivors include her loving husband of 11 years; Clyde C. Wilson; children; Tobias Thompson, Tawan Wilson, grandchildren; Mikayla, Daniel, Tawan Jr., Marquise, Ciana, Tiana, Eric, Damar, Ticar, and Nylah, great-grandchildren; Khaza and Laylani, siblings; Charlestine “Cherry” Thompson, Charles “Brubby” Thompson Jr., Clifton Thompson Sr., Shelby Hall (Jermaine), Rachelle Tompki, and Mark Welsey, numerous nieces and nephews, and special friends and family; Jeanie Cameron, Donna Kelley, Tammy Banks, Leon Braywood, and Taneka Brown.

In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her son; Costello Wilson.

Funeral service will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921 with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be private.
