Catherine Sharene Smrzlick, 65, of Newark, DE passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025. Born in Ketchikan, AK on January 22, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Harold Bailey Sr. and Patricia Mackey Bailey Quillen.

Catherine spent many years working as a dedicated sales associate at Walmart. In her free time, she loved nothing more than being surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren, who brought endless joy to her life. Catherine will be missed by everyone who knew her.

Survivors include her former husband and best friend, Mark Amig; her daughters, Brandie Barron, Newark, DE, Nicole Amig (Terry Shuler Jr.), Rising Sun, MD, and Courtney Amig (Douglas Anderson), Newark, DE; grandchildren, Cheyenne Anderson, Richard Anderson, James Anderson and Dominick Miller; and siblings, Harold Bailey Jr., Marvin Bailey, and Constance Almond.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Savannah Miller; and brother, George Bailey Sr.

Funeral service will be held 4 PM, Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 3 PM. Interment will be private.
