Carolyn Lee Cornett, 79, of Elkton, Maryland passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. Born in Elkton on July 8, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Kathryn Lecuk Harrington.

Carolyn retired as a mailroom supervisor for the Cecil Whig, where she worked for many years with dedication and pride. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, spending time with her family, tending to her garden, and getting lost in a good book. She will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit. She leaves behind a loving family and many cherished memories.

Survivors include her children, John Dickerson, Elkton, MD, Steven Dickerson (Donna), Mesa, AZ, and Mary Kathryn Dickerson, Elkton, MD; stepchildren, Robert M. Cornett, Jr., Newark, De, Shelly Crocker, Bradford, TN, and Raymond Cornett, Elkton, MD; 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Annette Palmer (Rick) and Anna Cantler, both of Elkton, MD; and cherished nieces and nephews whom she raised, Carrie Bradley, Cassie Cantler, and Hugh Cantler.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John R. Dickerson and second husband, Robert M. Cornett.

Prayer service will be held 1 PM, Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 12 PM. Interment will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Elkton, MD.
