Carol Jean Ditzler, 77, of Elkton, MD passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. Born in Bellefonte, PA on August 26, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Poorman Foster.
Carol retired after many years as a secretary and bookkeeper with the Maryland Cork Company. A longtime member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, she was known for her kind heart and strong faith. Carol found joy in camping with her loved ones, crocheting beautiful handmade items, baking sweet treats, and spending time with her precious grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her daughters, Dorene Zervas (Chris), Newark, DE, Annette Clark, Tyler, TX, Gail Beck (Mark), Elkton, MD, and Denise McGee (Steve), North East, MD; grandchildren, Meghan, Madeleine, Jeffrey, Devin, Jordan, Victoria, and Alycia; 7 great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Barbara Grove (John), Huntingdon, PA, Donald Foster (Joy), West Decatur, PA, and Harold Foster, Robesonia, PA.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Nelson Ditzler; and great-grandsons, Jayden Thompson, and twins Jamison and Maverick Vandenbosch.
Funeral service will be held 12 PM, Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 1842 Otts Chapel Rd, Newark, DE 19702, with visitation beginning at 10:30 AM. Interment will be in Gilpin Manor Memorial Park, Elkton, MD.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society at P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
