Clyde Dwane Murray, 74, of Elkton, MD, passed away peacefully at home on September 27, 2023. Born in Wilmington, DE on November 30, 1948, he was the son of the late Glenn and Bonnie Bledsoe Murray.

A U.S. Navy veteran, Mr. Murray was a faithful church member for over 50 years, serving as a pastor, teacher, and missionary and earning his doctorate degree in Ministerial Theology. As a missionary he enjoyed traveling the world, including living 11 years in Zimbabwe, Africa. He valued time spent with his family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and serving others. An avid hunter, he was also a Baltimore Ravens fan.

Survivors include his children, Christy M. Allanson (Gary) and Charity A. Bowen, all of Elkton, MD; grandchildren, Aaron Allanson (Savannah), Lauren Smith (Drake), and Mark W. Bowen (Arianna Fetters); great-grandchildren, Jettson D. Allanson and Elliott "Ellie" J. Smith; sister, Charlotte Tackett; and sister-in-law, Loretta Murray.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Catherine Ellen Murray; his son-in-law, Mark Bowen; sister, Shelvy Petrillo; brother, Roy Murray; and brothers-in-law, Eugene Petrillo and Zonia Tackett.

Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Word of Life Christian Center, 854 Old Baltimore Pike, Newark, DE 19702, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m.
