Obituary

Burnard William Cline, Jr., age 88, of Elkton, MD, passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2024. He was born on March 1, 1936, on lot five of the Nottingham Lots at the Gatchell (now Tosh) farm in Harrisville, Rising Sun, MD. Mr. Cline was the son of the late Burnard W. and Ruth I. Garvin Cline.


Mr. Cline attended Calvert Agricultural High School through ninth grade and graduated from Rising Sun High School in 1955.


A lifelong dairy farmer, Mr. Cline worked alongside his father until 1984. After his father's passing, Mr. Cline partnered with his brother, Roger, until Roger retired. After finishing his education, Mr. Cline's son, Burnard, joined the family partnership.


In addition to his parents, Mr. Cline was preceded in death by his brother, Roger Garvin Cline.


Survivors include his beloved wife of fifty-seven years, Eleanor M. Cline; daughter, Karen, and her husband, Gregory Ayres of Rising Sun, MD; son, Burnard Roger Cline; and grandson, Walker Ayres.


Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m., Monday, November 18, 2024, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD. A graveside service will follow on Tuesday, November 19, at 1:00 p.m. at Brookview Cemetery, Rising Sun, MD.
