July 6, 1944 – March 21, 2025
Bonna Sue Shahan, 80, of Millington, MD passed away on March 21, 2025, comfortably at home surrounded by her family.
Bonna Sue was born on July 6, 1944 in Elkton, MD, daughter of the late Earl T. Magaw II and Violet M. Magaw. She was raised in Hickory Hill, PA, a suburb of Oxford, PA, and was a graduate of Oxford Area High School, where she excelled at clerical and typing courses. After her first job as an associate at the Sears Catalog store in Elkton, MD, Bonna Sue became employed by Chrysler Corporation in Newark, DE, where over the next 30 years she would hold a number of positions, the last of which was Accounts Payable and Payroll Clerk. In 1996, she retired to begin her new career as a grandmother upon the birth of her first grandchild, Amanda. This was her favorite of all career positions.
In 2011, she married the love of her life, Foster C. Shahan, who predeceased her in 2016. She and Foster built many loving and happy memories together with their cats: Baby and Bella (later Molly and Pooh), and their family.
Bonna Sue loved to crochet, complete puzzles (both crossword and jigsaw), garden, bake, play cards and read.
Bonna Sue is survived by her son, Michael D. Magaw, Earleville, MD; grandchildren, Amanda Meredith Magaw (Percy Tharp), Silver Spring, MD and Kaitlin Elizabeth Magaw (Adam Horner), Millington, MD; brother, Earl T. Magaw III (Ann), Elkton, MD; her nieces, Christina Buskell (James), Elkton, MD, Susan Renee Warfield (Donald), Warwick, MD, Mary Magaw, Elkton, MD, and Erin Van Dyke (Clyde), Elkton, MD; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
