Obituary

Betty Romaine Craley, 95, of Elkton, MD passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025. Born in Brogue, PA on March 22, 1930, she was the daughter of the late George and Sarah Keeports Craley.

Betty retired after many years of dedicated service as a keypunch operator at Red Lion Senior High School in Red Lion, PA. She also spent many years as a Sunday school teacher at Bethel United Methodist Church in Brogue, PA. Her faith and commitment to serving others were evident in all that she did, and she touched many lives through her teaching and guidance. Throughout her life, Betty had a love for animals, particularly her beloved dog, Coco, who brought her great joy. In her younger years, she enjoyed riding horses and had a deep appreciation for nature. She loved going on nature walks with her family, marveling at the beauty around her. In quieter moments, she could be found enjoying old western movies, a genre that always brought her comfort and entertainment. Betty will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her niece, Diane Shortall; great-niece, Kim Shortall; great-nephew, Scott Shortall (Jackie); and great-great-nieces, Amiyah, Mackenzie, Aubrey, and Anna.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Delores Rehmeyer.

Graveside service will be held 12 PM, Monday, April 21, 2025 at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, 1674 Furnace Road, Brogue, PA 17309.
