Bernard John Permar, Jr., "Buddy", 77, of Middletown, DE passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, December 4, 2025. Born in Wilmington, DE on July 11, 1948, he was the son of the late Bernard J. Permar, Sr. and Virginia Short Allen.

Buddy had worked for both DuPont Corporation and Agilent Technologies as a Chemist.  A member of the Baltimore Vintage Record Club and a recording engineer, he was also a talented guitarist who played in several bands throughout the 1970s and 1980s. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he found joy in caring for his lawn, snowy winters, and especially cherished every moment spent with his family on their vacations.

Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Deborah Henderson Permar; sons, John M. Permar and Jeff M. Permar, both of Middletown, DE; two grandsons; Jacob M. Permar and Tyler Permar, and sister; Patricia Vernor (Mark), of Wilmington, DE.

Funeral service will be held 11 AM, Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be in Cherry Hill Methodist Cemetery, Elkton, MD.
