Barbara Ann Norton, 80, of Newark, DE and more recently North East, MD passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2026. Born in Wilmington, DE on September 23, 1945, she was the daughter of the late James & Nellie Daisey.

Mrs. Norton retired after many years as a copyright editor, where she was known for her creativity, hard work and dedication. She was a long-time member of Newark United Methodist Church and an active member of the Cecil County Arts Council. She absolutely loved the beach and had a real passion for the arts, especially painting and drawing, and expressed her wit and perspective through her early work as a cartoonist. Mrs. Norton was also an accomplished writer and author of two published books, The Jewels and Breaking News. She will be remembered for her creativity, her love of family and friends, and enduring love of the arts.

Survivors include her daughter; Joanna Crouch (Dale), North East, MD, her step-grandchildren, cousins, and sister; Betty Jean Daisey-Moses, Jennersville, PA.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister; Fran Atwood.

Memorial service will be held 4 PM, Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD  21921, with visitation beginning at 3 PM.
