Barbara Cummins
Hanna
March 13, 1947 – March 3, 2024
Barbara Cummins Hanna, of Carpenter's Point, MD March 13th, 1947-March 3rd, 2024.
Ever enchanted by the water, Barbara was drawn to the Chesapeake Bay and the Caribbean Sea. She was raised in Elkton, with deep roots in Maryland's Eastern Shore. Finding her serenity by the Bay, she and her husband built their dream home and raised their cherished family to whom she was so lovingly devoted.
Her commitment to the well being of others extended beyond her family and lead to a purposeful and passionate career in nursing. Caring for those in need with resilience and integrity created a lasting and inspiring legacy; a tradition she carried from her mother and continues in her children and grandchildren.
As an artist, her talent was apparent from an early age and influenced all aspects of her life; from her personal style to a perfectly curated home. She had a deep appreciation for beauty and creative expression; another precious tradition that lives on in her children.
Her beloved family: adoring husband of 49 years, Jack; Daughters: Chris, Tracy, Karen, and Beka; 5 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren are dedicated to honoring her memory of vibrancy and love.
A prompt and intimate family memorial will be followed by a celebration of life, to be announced at a later date.
With Barbara's appreciation of and allegiance to the preservation of The Chesapeake Bay, a charitable donation to The Chesapeake Bay Foundation, www.cbf.org would be preferred in lieu of flowers.
A life well lived, Barbara
