Anna Violet Riddle, 92, of Elkton, MD passed away on Monday, October 5, 2026. Born in Snow Hill, WV on March 17, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Lena Permenter.

Mrs. Riddle enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, especially knitting, gardening, and canning. She found joy in creating things with her hands and sharing what she made with the people she loved.

Survivors include her children; Mark Riddle (Sally Dorman), Eric Riddle (Karyn), Bonnie Riddle, Cathy Riddle, and Sherry Messer, grandchildren; Ian Riddle, Cameron Riddle, Derrick Messer and Jason Arney, great-grandson; Caspian, brother; Delvin Permenter, special nephews; Michael, Randy, Warren, and Gary, and many others.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 37 years; John T. Riddle, brothers; Herschel and Richard, and sister; Hilda.

Funeral service will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921 with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be in Cherry Hill Methodist Cemetery, Elkton, MD.
