Anna Weaverling Bishop, 89, of Elkton, MD passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. Born in Philadelphia, PA on April 26, 1937, she was the daughter of the late William and Lillian Hand Weaverling.

Mrs. Bishop retired after many dedicated years as an accountant for the State of Maryland. She was a proud member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Elkton Post #15. Mrs. Bishop enjoyed reading, shopping outings, trips to Atlantic City, and was an avid Bee Gees fan. She enjoyed the love and companionship of her many dogs and cats, who held a special place in her heart.

Survivors include her children; Donald Smith (Linda), Riva, MD, Bonnie Brown (Richard), New Bern, NC, Holly Ayers (Wayne), North East, MD, and Tammy Matchett (C.J.), Topeka, KS, grandchildren; Donna Lynne Mays, George Smith, Lillian Bailey, William Hughes, Thomas Bishop, Christina Bishop, Richard “R.J.” Brown, Mandi Brown, Tabitha Brown, Haley Brown, and Hannah Brown, great-grandchildren; Asher Mays, Sage Mays, Khloe Heath, Will Bishop, Abbey Tomsen, Noah Tomsen, Leah Tomsen, Jacklyn Kirby, Henry Brown, Jude Brown, Mabel Brown, Oliver Vanasten, Madison Vanasten, Tanner Scott, Logan Scott, and Moira Hill, and numerous nieces and a nephew.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years; Thomas W. Bishop, daughter; Deborah Walls and brothers; Donald Weaverling and George Weaverling.

Funeral service will be held 11:30 AM, Friday, August 21, 2026, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921 with visitation beginning at 10:30 AM. Interment will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.
