Horn Heath

Anita Horn Heath, 91, of Merritt Island, FL was called home by the Lord on Thursday, February 13, 2025. Born in Defiance, OH on May 23, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Louise Barnes Horn.
Anita married her loving husband, Bob, on June 10, 1951, and together, they raised three wonderful children in Elkton, MD. Anita was a pioneer in the field of Real Estate, holding a license for over 60 years. She was instrumental in forming the Cecil County Board of Realtors and organizing the county's first multi-list real estate program. Throughout her distinguished career, she served as the past president of the Cecil County Board of Realtors and was honored as the Realtor of the Year. In addition, she served on many local, county, and state committees, where her leadership was invaluable.
Anita was also a licensed insurance broker. Along with her husband, Bob, and their partners, they purchased Garvice Sligh Insurance Agency in Elkton, where they served the community for over 30 years. Anita's passion for music was a central part of her life. She and Bob traveled to numerous local churches, singing for the Lord. Anita also served as the choir director at both the First Baptist Church in Elkton and St. John's Methodist Church in Fair Hill. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 84 where she had been past Worthy Matron.
In 2015, Anita relocated to Merritt Island, Florida, to live with her daughter and son-in-law, where she spent her final years surrounded by love.
Survivors include her children, Carla Testa (Joseph), and William Heath (Kathy); grandchildren, Michelle Burgess (Phil), Joseph Testa III (Yrina), Christopher Testa, Robert Heath III, Tara Strencejewski, Ian Strencejewski, Chase Heath, and Victoria Heath; 12 great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Kimberly Heath.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Heath Sr.; son, Robert Heath Jr.; granddaughter, Keri Kline; and her sister, Elizabeth Horn.
Memorial service will be held 2 PM, Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, with visitation beginning at 1 PM. Interment will be in Cherry Hill Methodist Cemetery, Cherry Hill, MD.
