Akiko Johnson, age 99, of Elkton, MD, passed away Monday, March 7, 2022. Born in Kobe, Japan, on September 27, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Tomekichi and Mina Yamamoto Nakata.

A homemaker, Mrs. Johnson had volunteered at the Cecil Senior Center since 1988. She loved listening to classical music and watching the travel channel.

Survivors include her daughter Evelyn "Kay" Johnson, Elkton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert S. Johnson.

Funeral service will be held at 11 AM, Monday, March 14, 2022, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD, with visitation beginning at 10 AM. Interment will be in Harford Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen, MD.
